“The Love That Never Let Me Go” by Norma Benson

Norma, Robbi, Megan, Theo, Nichol, Brian, and Violet Hi, my name is Norma Benson. I did not grow up in a Christian family. I grew up in a tiny mining town in Colorado. There were only about 500 people. We had an Episcopal church and a Catholic church, but there was no Christianity in our family when I was young. When I was about eight or nine years old, my mother met some women in town who became important in her journey of discovering the Lord. She started going to the Episcopal Church, and she took us with her. It was a very small congregation. There was no Sunday school. We simply went to the service on Sundays. But the church was very close. The people often gathered for suppers and other activities. Most of them were older, and they became like grandparents to me. Little by little, I began to know the Lord. Sometimes I would catch something in a sermon. I remember going with my mother to the Stations of the Cross on Easter. At eight or nine years old, I remember thinking, ...

With Pastor Edger Miranda and Pastor Wesley Silva  Have you ever heard the story of the Blind Men and the Elephant ? Five blind men each feel a different part of an elephant—one touches the trunk, another the tail, another a leg—and each describes the elephant based on the small part he can touch. None of them sees the whole picture on their own, but together, their experiences give a fuller understanding. Last Wednesday, I finally met with our Outer Cape Cooperative Parish pastors. Amazingly, we are all originally from outside the mainland U.S.! Pastor Edgar lived in Puerto Rico until elementary school, Pastor Wesley is from Brazil, and I am from South Korea. We even learned how to say "God bless you" in Spanish, Portuguese, and Korean (I need to practice a bit more before our next meeting!). As we shared our faith journeys, we humbly recognized that, like the blind men in the story, each of us knows only a part of God's vast fullness. We are so grateful to work togeth...

Unbroken Faith by Samantha Hayman

My name is Samantha, and this is a hard story to tell because I am still living it. On August 20, 2026, I was riding my motorcycle when a car pulled out and hit me. In one instant, my whole life changed. I was badly hurt—my pelvis, ribs, lung, and both wrists were injured—and I was rushed to the hospital. I went from being very active and independent to needing help with almost everything. But there is something from that day I will never forget. My first words to the woman who hit me were, “I forgive you.” Later, I kept thinking, How did those words even come out of my mouth? I truly believe they came from God, not from me. I am not angry with her. I do not understand why this happened, and I do not have every answer. But I know God was with me in that moment, and He is still with me now. Recovery has been part of my life for a long time. Go...
