๐️ Pastor’s Corner: Extraordinary Love
Dear Church Family,
Last weekend, our home was filled with so many dear friends from Houlton, Maine, who drove all the way down to deliver a very special farewell gift from Houlton UMC: our beloved piano!
We felt so deeply blessed and honored to receive this gift. This piano holds countless memories of worship, praise, and shared love through the years. The reason they donated this beautiful gift to us was to help us continue praising God with the same love we shared with all in Houlton, now here in Wellfleet! ❤️๐น It was such a gift to share sweet fellowship with our former lay members, though our hearts were also heavy with sad news from Maine:
- Our dear friends, the Henderson family (who have four children close in age to ours), tragically lost their home in a house fire last Monday.
- One of our children’s beloved grandfathers, Bob Cowperthwaite, is near the end of his earthly journey. After talking with them over FaceTime, we couldn't stop crying from grief and sorrow.
All of these events tried to shake our hearts and minds, but in the quiet, I simply prayed: “Lord, give us an even key,” and “Let us keep praising God.”
We will keep praising God and sharing the extraordinary love we have learned through our journey together until we see Jesus face to face!

๐ Highlights from Laity Sunday
Last Sunday, we celebrated a wonderful Laity Sunday service praising God for equipping and building His Church through the partnership of clergy and laity! We are all ministers!
- Sermon: Dwight Esty delivered an inspiring message titled "Readiness."
- Children's Moment: Pastor Joyce shared a pastoral letter celebrating our lay leaders.
- Special Music: Susan Laurence (from Houlton UMC) joined Grace Han for a beautiful duet of “Ave Maria” and Debussy's “Ballet.”
May God richly bless our laity as we continue serving together!
๐ฆช The World-Famous Wellfleet OysterFest!
So many visitors poured into our town to enjoy Wellfleet’s sweet, tender oysters during OysterFest weekend!
Did you know?
- Wellfleet is home to the world’s fastest oyster shucker!
- In historic times, Wellfleet oysters were even delivered across the Atlantic to Queen Elizabeth!
A huge THANK YOU to all the amazing church volunteers who helped with parking, set up, and welcoming visitors to our historic sanctuary! What a joy to see our town come alive with great food, community spirit, and fellowship!
